Bringing Back Intuition For Business

Big Data. Performance Marketing. Quarterly Equity Tracking. Optimizing conversion costs. This isn’t why you got into business, brand, or leadership, is it?

No – most brand leaders and entrepreneurs are changemakers. We have a fire inside to make an impact. We know we have big things to accomplish in this world and we are constantly pulling insight from everywhere to guide our decisions.

But we’re faced with an industry that’s becoming increasingly data-driven. We’re being told data can control outcomes – and it can, to an extent. But it’s only control of micro-levers. It’s never going to launch those mega-moves that we feel deep inside, that we hear from that inner voice putting the pieces together and seeing something more.

An article in the Wall Street Journal states: "An overreliance on data can also numb the intellect and dull decision-making skills. Multiple studies suggest that managers who bury themselves in data lose their ability to see how their decisions play out in the real world."

Steve Jobs. Richard Branson. Sarah Blakely. They aren’t looking to data to make their decisions for them. They start from their instinct, their vision, their belief in something bigger. And that’s not to say they don’t use data – of course they do – they need to prove out the viability of their ideas. They need to manage their business and operations. But they make space to hear that inner voice first. That’s the driver.

What if you could find your way back to an intuition-led business, brand, or leadership style? If you could find or re-build that “muscle memory” so it leads to bigger, game-changing, impact making decisions? The kind of stuff you came into this industry to do in the first place?
